Paul Farmer’s visit to Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove

Age UK’s Chief Executive Paul Farmer has been touring the UK visiting lots of Partners since his arrival in October.

Last week, Paul visited Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, where he saw how their customised gym for people aged over 50 is supporting older people in the area to stay fit and healthy. There was also chance to pop in to the Community Cafe and meet attendees at a flower arranging session.

Paul has blogged about his experience on LinkedIn, where he gave his thoughts on how person-centred support can play a key role in keeping older people fit and well, especially during periods of pressure on the NHS. Paul also outlined three simple actions that politicians should support now to make sure this winter crisis doesn’t happen again.

“I had a really rewarding day with colleagues from Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove. Like so many local Age UKs I’ve visited, I can see the huge difference we are making to older people’s lives.”
