This webinar will explore the importance of the voluntary, community and social enterprise VCSE sector contribution in shaping, improving and delivering services, and developing and implementing plans to tackle the wider determinants of health. It will look at how to effectively include this diverse and creative sector in emergent ICB structures and models. 

The webinar shares learning from systems, and asks:

  • How Integrated Care Boards ICBs can engage and embed the VCSE sector in system level governance and decision making arrangements.
  • How to build on the involvement of VCSE partners in forums at place and neighbourhood level.
  • And also examines how to ensure the VCSE sector can be supported to remain resilient and effective as part of a wider system

Two upcoming care webinars

Age UK’s Health Influencing Team and SCIE are both holding upcoming webinars on care. Find out how to book for either event.

There are two upcoming webinars on care which you may wish to attend. The first webinar is hosted by Age UK’s Health Influencing Team and will unpack the latest developments following the publication of the Government’s White Paper on the Health and Care System in England. The second webinar is organised by Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) and looks at delivering safe, face-to-face adult day care. The Future of the Health and Care System webinar: White Paper, ICSs and what it means for you | 31 March from 4:00 – 5:00pm

The Health Influencing Team are hosting a webinar which will unpack the latest developments following the publication of the Government’s White Paper which sets out changes to the way the Health and Care System will operate in England. This webinar will look at what these changes are, why they are happening and what opportunities there may be for Age UK Network and the wider VCSE.

We will be hearing from the Head of Health Influencing, Ruthe Isden on the White Paper, Age UK Sutton on their experiences of working within their local health and care system and Roger Davidson the Director of System Transformation at NHS England on how it will work.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence has published two new pieces of guidance on safeguarding adults during the Covid-19 crisis, including a training webinar.

New guidance on safeguarding adults living with dementia

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) has published new guidance on safeguarding adults with dementia during the COVID-19 crisis. Their quick guide aims to support care providers and staff to safeguard people with dementia during the crisis recognising that people may be more vulnerable to abuse or neglect and care providers and staff are likely to be under extra pressure. New webinar training available on safeguarding adults

SCIE has developed a series of webinars to help organisations keep adults with care and support needs safe in a variety of settings.

Each week, they will explore specific aspects of the safeguarding process and people can attend one-off sessions to refresh their learning or sign up to all six for a complete overview and introduction to safeguarding adults. Click here to find out more.
