Five falls prevention resources to help older adults become more active

Access the five resources from The National Falls Prevention Co-ordination Group to help older adults to become more active and recondition following activity restrictions in the Covid-19 pandemic.

The National Falls Prevention Co-ordination Group (NFPCG) have developed a suite of five resources intended to support individuals, health and care professionals, and commissioners to take action to help older adults to become more active and recondition following activity restrictions during the pandemic.

The five resources have been developed in response to the recommendations listed in the Public Health England guidance 2021, Covid-19: Wider impacts on people aged 65 and over – this guidance provides an estimation of the impacts of Covid-19 on physical activity, deconditioning and falls in older adults and recommendations to mitigate these effects.

Accessing the Resources and Spreading the Word

Visit the British Geriatric Society website here to access and download a copy of the resources.

The National Falls Prevention Co-ordination Group would be grateful for any support you can provide to disseminate these resources to appropriate target audiences, particularly those from ‘hardly reached’ populations (the NHSEI Core20PLUS5 approach to reducing health inequalities may help to identify these populations); and to those across your wider networks.
